Rainbow Acres is a ranch-style community for adults with developmental disabilities. We call our residents "Ranchers" to denote that they are individuals of worth and should be treated with dignity. At Rainbow Acres, job skills, social standards and self-help methods are taught through the love and concern of Christian people. The primary emphasis of the Rainbow Acres total-life concept is to foster a sense of self-worth in each Rancher through positive qualities of family-style living in a loving and accepting community. Although we are proud our state-of-the-art campus, we never forget that buildings do not care for people — people care for people. That is why we emphasize nurturing love and compassion in every member of our staff. Rainbow Acres is an independent, not-for-profit Christian ministry related to the American Baptist Churches in the USA. It is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, and is governed by an independent, self-perpetuating Board of Trustees from Arizona and across the nation. This ministry is made possible through generous regional and national contributions from numerous churches of all faiths, as well as individuals, foundations and corporations. Rainbow Acres has been designated a 501(c) (3) institution by the Internal Revenue Service. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the IRS code.
