Palmer Community Center

In September 2010, Rainbow Acres celebrated the dedication of the brand new Palmer Community Center. This impressive new structure, named after Rainbow friend and supporter Virginia Frese Palmer, houses an architecturally stunning and acoustically mastered banquet hall, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, professional kitchen facilities, a fitness center and more. From private office space for staff, to improved food service, the Palmer Community Center offers countless improvements in the lives of the Ranchers and enables Rainbow to provide the best care possible. It also enables Rainbow Acres to reach out to the surrounding community by offering a versatile and professional events space with the best views in the Verde Valley. Christ the Healer

Gracing the steps of the Palmer Community Center is a beautiful new statue crafted by local sculpture artist John Soderberg. The statue, dubbed Christ the Healer, consists of four figures – Christ and three individuals with physical ailments.  Christ the Healer stands as a symbol of God's love and support for all his children. The statue was also commissioned by Rainbow supporter Virginia Frese Palmer.

Road Runner Fitness Center

At Rainbow Acres, physical fitness is an important element of the comprehensive care we provide for our Ranchers. Until recently, it has been difficult finding safe and effective ways to encourage exercise. Many of the Ranchers enjoy walking a loop around the Ranch, but sweltering summer heat, frosty winter mornings and dusty terrain sometimes make this activity difficult. The Palmer Community Center has provided a number of improved services for the Ranch. One of these is the addition of the Road Runner Fitness Center dedicated to Rainbow Acres friend and supporter Carolyn Gibson. The room is an enclosed, climate-controlled space that is equipped with new, state-of-the-art fitness machines and weights. Now, come heat or frost, the Ranchers have a place to maintain their physical fitness.
