Arizona taxpayers who haven’t yet made their gifts to take advantage of the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit for 2015 have only until midnight Thursday to do so.

The easy way is to go to a qualified organization (like Rainbow Acres) online donation site and make your gift. You may receive a $200 dollar-for-dollar credit if you file as a single, or $400 if you file jointly, depending upon your tax liability to the State.

Rainbow Acres is a qualified nonprofit that provides caring homes and lives of purpose and dignity to adults with developmental disabilities. To make a tax credit donation to Rainbow, go to our Donate page.

To learn more you may go to the website of a new group, the Verde Valley Tax Credit Coalition. This is a group of nonprofits who qualify for the Charitable Tax Credit and are trying to educate people on how their tax dollars can go to serve people they care about rather than allowing our elected officials to make decisions on where our tax money goes.

Consider making a monthly donation during 2016 that will add up to your maximum tax credit amount by the end of the year. That way, you won’t need to come up with a larger sum during December of next year to take advantage of this opportunity!
